A movie in particular that they mentioned was the movie RED. This movie features Bruce Willis, starring as Frank Moses, a lonely and listless man whose only happiness comes from calling his pension case worker, Sarah Ross (Mary-Louise Parker from Weeds fame). Sarah, equally bored, lonely and an avid trashy romance reader, also counts Franks calls as the only interesting things in her life. It is once the movie moves past the first act that the action begins to kick in as Franks deals with an assassination attempt and the ensuing dangers. To speed through the plot, Frank rescues Sarah from a similar fate and meets up with a few of his old working buddies.

Romance Suspense in Films
After further research on Romance Suspense in films. I discovered this website: http://youshouldtoo.wordpress.com/2013/02/12/top-five-romantic-suspense-films/ that talks about romance suspense as a genre in films and how to easily determine whether or not a certain film is a romance suspense. It says in the article, that romance suspense as a genre is difficult to define. The main differences between romantic suspense and more normalized romance movies can be seen the in the setting and events of the films. Often with a romantic suspense film, the romance between a couple is ‘suspended’ due to more pressing issues relating to the situation of the film, these being of a more action, adventure or crime slant.

Fatal Attraction as one of the best Romance Suspense films
Fatal Attraction is a film that was released September 18, 1987. This film is one of my favorite films. Just recently I watched it one day and it occurred to me that this film actually fit into one of my hybrid genres; "Romance Suspense". This film combines lust in addition to heartthrobing twist and turns that will send you flying off your seat. Provided by http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093010/ , A married man’s one night stand comes back to haunt him when that lover begins to stalk him and his family. So maybe not as much romance in this one, but gee whiz, there certainly is suspense. Michael Douglas! They way the director creates the story line that builds and builds is something that I appreciated as the viewer and is definitely something that I want to include within my final. Below is clip from the movie. Take a look:

Romance Films- "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"
Often with a romantic suspense film, the romance between a couple is ‘suspended’ due to more pressing issues relating to the situation of the film, these being of a more action, adventure or crime slant.
So as I research further into romance suspense genre, I wanted to research along the lines of romance suspense films. I came upon the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith that I believe most of you may know. The article tilted, "The Top Five Romantic Suspense Films", talks about the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith by saying, "Mr & Mrs. Smith proves to be not only entertaining but filled emotions as well as flying bullets. The home wrecking chemistry between Pitt and Jolie coupled with the superbly crafted writing is what makes this film."

Kathleen Bittner Roth- Historical Romance meets Romance Suspense
While researching more on the topic of Romance Suspense, I came upon an incredible author named, Kathleen Bittner Roth. Kathleen specializes in women’s fiction, some historical, nonfiction, and children literature. Her latest novel tilted "Duke's Wicked Kiss" is spellbinding historical/romantic suspense takes the reader from England to India and back again. Spun against a lush background of Indian palaces, exotic jewels, a cheetah, and an uprising, her characters and writing sizzle as much as the romance. This satisfying and well-written book, laden with incredible detail, transports readers to places and times impossible to otherwise experience.
Here is a short synopsis of her book:
While on a secret mission for the Crown, a proper duke falls for an improper daughter of an Indian royal and British noble.Miss Suri Thurston knows the pain of abandonment. Intent on confronting the grandmother who tossed her to the lions, she travels from England to her birthplace in India. Her plans run afoul when she encounters the man who, ten years prior, left a mark on her soul with one stolen kiss. But he is a duke, and far beyond the reach of even her dreams. The Duke of Ravenswood, secret head of the British Foreign Service, has no time for relationships. His one goal is to locate and eliminate key insurgents involved in an uprising against the British East India Company before it’s too late. But when Suri appears in Delhi, his resolve is tested as he finds his heart forever bound to her by the one haunting kiss they shared once upon a time. With Suri’s vengeful Indian family looking for her death, and insurgents intent on mutiny tearing their world apart, can their love rise above the scandal of the marriage they both desperately want?
What I value about Kathleen's book "Duke's Wicked Kiss" is that she is able to incorporate historical elements while also creating suspense amongst the main characters as they develop their love chemistry. Although I haven't read the book, as a viewer, the summary is intriguing and presumes to be educational. I would like to find a way in my own work to incorporate a historical element and see where it takes me.
